Required Gear

To mount CineBack™ Lite to you camera, you'll need either a 15mm rod system or some other way to mount the unit to your camera. Watch the video above to see how Caleb Pike recommends you do this using the following items:

  • Base Plate - This is how you'll mount your camera to rods. This SmallRig version is our favorite but if your budget is tight, this unit is the most affordable.
  • 15mm Rods - There are thousands of rod options on the market. Just choose a length, material and go! 8 inches is a nice small compact length for most of these rigs but you do you!
  • Quick Release - If you want to be able to quickly remove your camera from the baseplate, we recommend a quick release system. The Falcam F38 quick release is super fast or this SmallRig Arca Swiss option is also good with this unit being a little faster to release. Finally these Arca Swiss Clamps are the most affordable quick release option.

Amazing upgrade for my A7SIII Kit

I added this to my A7SIII kit that had a Tilta cage.

Loving the multiple USB power outs and the LCD screen protection.

Makes my kit solid and I feel like have control over how neat the rigging looks and functions! It's a home run in my books!

Very decent product with some flaws

Overall I like the upgrade to my A7Siii kit with this addon, however, the spacing is a bit tricky to get right with the monitor cover and the screws themselves require an insane amount of torque to tighten down, as it seems they aren't driving into a threaded hole, or if they are, the plastic padding around them makes it extremely frustrating to reposition. The V-mount locking mechnism itself is the weakest point of the rig, however, with a unique locking system that provides no "click" or positive feedback that your battery is in fact held in, and even when it is it feels a bit sketchy. I would much prefer a standard V-mount locking plate that I don't have to think about or double check every time I put a battery on. Other than that, the power distribution and the overall concept of the unit is great and I hope Caleb continues to innovate and improve products like these because I definitely appreciate the design philosophy.

Thank you so much for the feedback Micah! We've adjusted the holes for the screen holder screws so they are MUCH easier to install. I'll definitely take everyting you mentioned into account. Really appretiate you taking the time to help me think more about this! - Caleb Pike

Cheaper feel than expected

Functionally I believe this product is great. I’m just not too sure about its durability as there is a lot of plastic and in particular the screw holes for the screen keeper. I wish there was adjustability for the main unit on the cheese plate it came with.

Other than that, it’s definitely an upgrade over most battery plates out there.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give us some feedback! We'll take all of that into consideration. Have a great rest of your week Seth! - Caleb

Works amazingly well!

Yesterday, I powered my Sony A7IV camera, a Ninja V monitor and a Hollyland Mars 300 Pro Wireless HDMI system using a Smallrig V99 battery. All of the power drawn, was drawn through the Cineback Lite which was mounted on my setup. The way that I ran a livestream of 10 hours and had a freeroaming camera that could also easily be mounted on a Smallrig Trailblazer Tripod was great. There was no struggle with reminding myself to check the charge of the battery, seeing as whenever I'd mount the rig on the tripod, I was able to charge my V99 battery and also have it deliver power through Cineback Lite! My other two V50 batteries did not leave the case all day!

Definitely worth it, if not only for the easy to access switch, release mechanism or screen protector.

As a full time user of this since I got it for contracts on tv sets, it’s been just amazing!
