Turn your Sony FX3 or FX30 into a cinema camera with CineBack™!
CineBack™ is a camera rig that attaches onto the back of your camera giving you tons of mounting options, power choices and other features that you can learn about in the video and description below.
You can choose to film with a boxy cinema setup or a more documentary style setup with the XLR Handle Version or CineBack™ for FX3 and FX30.
CineBack™ V2 For FX3/FX30 Features

- Compatible with the F38 quick release system when using no cage

- Power switch to completely cut power so there is no battery drain
- Screen side mount allowing you to use your camera screen in cine mode, open or closed
- Top and bottom cheese plates for mounting accessories and other rigging gear
- Cable management compartment and door with cable routing built in.

Required Gear
The only required gear is either the Falcam F38 Combo Quick Release Kit or one of the 8+ camera cages compatible with CineBack™ V2:

Optional Gear
You can power the camera from via the USB-C Power Delivery jacks on the side using our right angle USB-C cables which are the perfect length for CineBack™. Alternatively yo can also use the D-Tap jacks on CineBack™ with a D-Tap to FZ100 Dummy Battery to power your camera. We've used the Alvin's Cable version as well as the Kondor Blue cable without issue.

Add the Falcam F38 quick release if you are using the camera without a cage or grab the Falcam F38 Quick Release Combo and our CineBack™ Quick Release Kit if you’re using a cage with CineBack™ V2 for FX3/FX30

- Will it work with the XLR audio handle? YES! You can purchase CineBack™ with or without the Handle Kit. Or purchase the handle separately here.
- Will this model work with other cameras? No this exact model only works with the Sony FX3 and FX30. Check this page to see all of the other CineBack™ models available for different cameras.
- Will this work with a quick release. Yes! Out of the box the camera without a cage is compatible with the Falcam F38 Quick Release Combo Kit and you can also buy the CineBack™ Quick Release Kit if you plan on using a cage.
NOTE ON GOLD MOUNT BATTERIES: We have found that several of the Anton Bauer Dionic batteries do not seem to work with our Gold Mounts. Bebob, Core and others seem fine but there may be compatibility issues with Dionic 90GM and 150GM batteries.

Makes my FX-3 way easier to rig accessories on and helps organize the cables. The Cineback helps with the ergonomics of the camera. My only gripe is that you need to had a riser to my Tilta LWS 15mm to have the height for a lens support bracket when using a zoom lens. Besides that everything about the Cineback I have liked so far.
I bought the Cineback for my FX30 in the Gold mount and love it. Everyone that sees my rig is awe struck especially since it's paired with an 40mm Atlas Orion lens. It looks very professional and I like that I am cable to recharge my battery from the D-Tap on the side of the battery plate.
Although the FX3 is still a great and capable camera, the CineBack is a great addition that breathed new life to it. I enjoyed the CineBack so much that I bought another and i’m looking forward to the XLR extension restock.
Bought Cineback FX3 Base Version 2 + XLR Top Handle Kit - V-Mount. Parts seem solid but didn't seem to include spacers to adapt cage-mounted FX3 to Cineback using Falcam F38 quick release. I asked tech support if it was supposed to be able to do that and they said yes but the holes drilled just don't align to make that happen. Not sure what happened.
Hey Ryan! As per the product video on the product page, the F38 quick release works with the FX3 if you have no cage installed. If you want to use the F38 quick release AND a cage, you can pick up the Quick Release Module sold seperately for $35 :-)
Hello, I just received my order of the CineBack™ FX3 Base Version 2 + XLR Top Handle Kit - V-Mount and I'm missing my top cheese plate. If the top cheese plate does not come with the package product, then your marketing needs to be adjusted because that is not clear. I only have the two half plates for the xlr handle.

You have a top plate in two pieces so you can swing between XLR Top Handle mode and a flat top boxy cinema camera mode by simply adding the second top plate with 4 screws. This way the front top plate can be removed and you can switch back and forth if needed.
