I thought a lot about buying it, because of the additional tax and high shipping to Germany (overall that’s additional 130-150€). But after building my rig I don’t regret it, its just an awesome base for a rig of my (giant) size. I can recommend it to everyone who wants to build a bigger rig that is still sturdy, has good balance and a classic cinema camera formfactor. I have added a D-Style Top Handle, giant V Mount battery (280wh) and the Fuji 18-55zoom lens with lots of accessories. The cineback helps creating the classic formfactor with all its mounting points, the great sideview monitor placement and power options. The overall stability of this rig is like a tank, it feels like its an original camera body and not like smashing lots of rigging parts together.
Thanks for building and selling this Caleb!
What can be optimized: the on/off switch can be a little bigger and should have a more satisfying click. Now it is a little too „muddy“ for my feel.
Another idea:
1. Would be awesome to see a cineback version with lockable 2 pin power outputs!
2. As well as lockable cable routing (hdmi, audio and usb c) directly through the cineback from the left hand side to the right sight of the cineback to deliver all outputs to the right side for the first ac.
But beside of that I am really satisfied with the cineback and fully enjoy having a rig like that! Together with the Fuji xh2s it truly feels like an original cinema camera system I am working with and that’s what I wanted to get. So 5/5 stars for you Caleb!
